Funerals for teens killed in Calabogie crash

Funerals will be held this week for two teenage hockey players killed in last Friday’s fatal car crash on Calabogie Road, near Burnstown.

Brandon Hanniman, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single vehicle crash. Alexander Paquette, 18, died of his injuries in hospital.

Two other 18-year-olds were injured in the crash; Ben Scheuneman is in critical condition and Jake McGrimmon is recovering.

Police say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Hanniman’s funeral will be held in Cobden at 11 a.m., Wednesday. Paquette’s funeral has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, in Renfrew.
