Gatineau mayor re-elected

GATINEAU, Que. — Despite facing four challengers for his job, the incumbent mayor of Gatineau has won a second term.
Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin was re-elected, Sunday, with 45 per cent of the vote. His challengers split the opposition, mainly between the two city councillors who were his main opponents.
Denis Tassé received 30 per cent of the votes, while Sylvie Goneau garnered 17 per cent support.
Voter turnout in Gatineau’s mayoralty race was just 38.5 per cent.
While voters went with Mayor Pedneaud-Jobin, they rejected his party; Action Gatineau won just six of 18 council seats.
