Police charge man shot in daylight shooting

OTTAWA – Police have charged the man who was injured in a daytime shooting west of downtown Ottawa.

Officers were called to Rochester Street, near Primrose, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday after reports of multiple gunshots.

Police located a damaged vehicle with shell casings on the ground around it.

A 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit confirms the injured man, Mohamed Ribih, 22, now faces several charges including, pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon.
