Wellington Diner wins patio fight

A popular Wellington West eatery has won its long-running battle to add patio seating.

The current owner of the Wellington Diner has been fighting to add outdoor seating for about three years, but the battle stretches back years before that. The patio plan was fought by neighbours, who worried about the noise from the patio's customers affecting their homes.

The city approved the patio, but neighbours appealed the decision to the Ontario Municipal Board.

The diner tweeted, Thursday night, “we won,” with a graphic that said “Patio 2018.”
