The Ottawa Police Service is reporting new charges for a Montreal couple, which stem from a joint investigation involving police services in Montreal and Kawartha Lakes.
The two had already been charged with human trafficking in a 2017 Ottawa police investigation.
Raphael Duchard, 29, already serving a sentence for convictions on similar charges in Lindsay, was arrested on new charges Monday, alleging he was operating a human trafficking network while behind bars.
Elisabeth Bejarano-Lucero, 22, was arrested last week in Montreal in connection with the new investigation.
She was awaiting trial.
