Crews tackle kitchen fire near Elmvale Shopping Centre

There were no injuries in a kitchen fire near the Elmvale Shopping Centre Monday evening. 

Shortly before 7 p.m., crews responded to multiple 911 calls reporting visible flames and smoke coming from a townhouse at 1991 St. Laurent Boulevard. 

The fire was upgraded to a second alarm when crews arrived, but was still quickly extinguished.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes.

A fire investigator has been called in to determine what caused the fire.
