Doucet shocked by Watson’s latest campaign announcement

On Thursday, Mayor Jim Watson sent out a release highlighting his plan for more affordable housing.
It's a campaign promise that his opponent Clive Doucet has been running on since Day 1 and he told 1310 NEWS that Watson is just recycling his platform.
“It's the notes we've been preaching for two and a half months.”
Part of Watson's campaign promise includes advocating for Inclusionary Zoning regulations that would make it easier to get affordable housing built with all new developments in Ottawa.
Doucet explained that one of the reasons he ran for mayor was because in one of the last meetings of council he went to about a 65-storey building, Watson “led the charge to take inclusionary by-law and affordable housing out of that building.”
He explained that it's just one of many “flip-flops” Watson has made in the campaign trail.
Doucet also took aim at his opponent's recent Twitter scandal.
Three activists have filed a lawsuit, saying Jim Watson is violating the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms by blocking them on his Twitter.
Doucet found an interesting comparison for blocking people on the social media platform.
“When you block people it's the equivalent of throwing them out of the room.”
He went on to say that he would never throw anyone out of a room.
