Firefighter injured in New Edinburgh blaze

A fire that ripped through a home in New Edinburgh early Sunday morning caused around $400,000 worth of damage, according to Ottawa Fire Services.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call shortly after 5:30 a.m. and declared the fire under control two hours later.

No one was home at the time, but at least one firefighter was injured by the blaze. Ottawa Fire Services said those injuries were non-critical in nature. 

Ottawa Fire Services estimated total damages to the home and its contents at $400,000. 

A fire inspector was on scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
