American military captain stationed in Ottawa killed in Ethiopian Airlines crash

An American military captain who was assigned to duty in Ottawa has been identified as a victim of the Ethiopian Airlines crash.
The United States embassy released a statement that said the Captain Antoine Marvin Lewis was on assignment in Ottawa, as part of a military exchange program.
Lewis was assigned to the Canadian Joint Operations Command.
The captain was from Illinois and had served almost 14 years in the military in both the United States and overseas.
Lewis was in Africa on personal travel.
Flags at the U.S. Embassy and consulates across Canada have been ordered to fly at half-mast.
U.S. Ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft said in a statement that, “We join the global community in mourning and recognizing the others lost, from Canada and more than 30 other countries, in this tragic crash.”
