Food distributed to Gatineau flood victims Saturday

The Moisson Outaouais is organizing the distribution of 'help baskets' to assist the hundreds of households that have been affected by the spring floods in Gatineau.

More than 18,468 kg of non-perishable goods, cleaning and personal hygiene products and more than 10,432 kg of clothes were collected at donation centers open earlier this month.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, people will be able to pick up baskets that are filled with food, hygiene and cleaning products and a prepaid card to a grocery store.

The distribution will be done at two locations, École secondaire du Versant (door 2) in the Gatineau sector and the Aylmer food center.

Citizens must provide proof of residence and can go to either of the two sites.
