UPDATE: One person in custody after serious stabbing at the New Highway Inn Motel

Update: Police have charged Mack Borden, 51, with aggravated assault and possessing a weapon to commit a crime.

Ottawa police are investigating a stabbing at the New Highway Inn Motel that sent a man in his 60's person to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers say the stabbing happened Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m.

A section of the hotel located at 2279 Prince of Wales Drive, south of West Hunt Club Road has been cordoned off.

Officers have been on the scene for a number of hours, investigating one of the hotel rooms.

Officers have not released the name or age of the victim.
