Ottawa police hike record check fee

In a couple of weeks, it's going to cost you more to get a police record check.
Starting September 1, fees for volunteer police checks will cost $10.
Then in January, the fee will double to $20.
Ottawa police say they will also no longer be issuing police checks to Gatineau residents.
The service says the fee hike is due to increasing demand from organizations requiring police records.
