One week away from OC Transpo service changes due to Confederation Line

By OttawaMatters Staff

OC Transpo bus routes will change as of next week. The changes are meant to better coincide with the LRT service.

As of Sunday October 6, OC Transpo will set off what they refer to as the biggest service changes in Ottawa’s history and many commuters will be affected. so we ask that you use the travel planner on octranspo.com to find out how your route will change.

What to know:

  • Using the travel planner on octranspo.com
  • O-Train Line 1 will replace most buses going downtown. This means that many commuters will have to transfer at either the Tunney’s Pasture, Hurdman or Blair stations.
  • Most areas of the city will see changes to bus service, especially Kanata North, Bridlewood, Bells Corners, west Ottawa, downtown, Alta Vista and Orléans. Many routes will be adjusted to align with Line 1, and in some cases, route numbers and schedules will change.
  • Service to major destinations like Gatineau, hospitals, universities and colleges will also change. Printable guides can be found through Ottawa Destinations in the Plan Your Trip section of octranspo.com.
  • OC Transpo staff are available to help at key locations across the city; look for them in red vests.

More information about the service change and new transit network was mailed to every household last week.
