Gatineau police arrest man wanted in local human trafficking case

Gatineau police are charging a man who they believe convinced a 15-year-old girl to offer sexual services in the Gatineau and Ottawa areas.

Police found out about the suspected activity back in August. Then, on September 15, the man apparently abandoned the girl while keeping her money and cell phone.

Nyoka Mweneloko, 22, appeared before the Court of Quebec on Wednesday, following his arrest on December 12 in Sudbury. He had been wanted by police since October 30.
