Off-duty paramedics, bystanders help motorcyclist after serious crash

A serious collision between a car and a motorcycle has left one man with life-threatening injuries on Wednesday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a crash in Perth that happened on Highway 7 at Drummond Street West, west of the nation’s capital, on Aug. 20. Officers said when they arrived around 3:00 p.m., an off-duty paramedic and bystanders were providing first aid to the motorcyclist.

Paramedics responding brought the 53-year-old man from Beckwith to a local hospital before transferring him to a trauma centre.

OPP from Lanark County are investigating what happened at the intersection with help from a collision reconstructionist and technical investigators.
