Charges laid following handgun seizure in south Ottawa

Two Ottawa men have been charged after Ottawa police seized two loaded handguns during a Monday morning traffic stop.
32-year-old Colin James Haddad and 23-year-old Ahmed Wardak have been charged with numerous firearms offences after the traffic stop at 12:15 a.m. near Hunt Club Road and Esson Street.
Officers say the suspects ran a red light at Blohm Drive and Hunt Club Road.
Both have been charged with possession of an unregistered restricted weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and unlawful possession of a schedule III substance.
Both men appeared in court Monday.
