Fire in Munster results in $150K in damages

A furnace fire was the reason Ottawa firefighters were called to an early-morning incident in Munster.
Ottawa Fire Dispatch received a call reporting heavy smoke coming from a two-storey ranch just before 9 a.m. Saturday at 1 Butterfield Rd. at the corner of Munster Road.
When firefighters arrived, they deployed a fast offensive attack and the fire was knocked down quickly and was under control just before 10 a.m.
Firefighters reported the fire was completely out by 10:18 a.m.
No injuries were reported but damages are estimated at about $150,000.
Ottawa Fire Services continue to investigate.
