The City of Ottawa says the resident, at the Peter D. Clark Home in Centrepointe, died of complications from COVID-19. This is the sixth resident death at the facility; one of the home's personal support workers also died of the virus.
In a written memo to the mayor and city council, the city's general manager of community and social services extended the city's condolences to the deceased resident's family.
The Peter D. Clark Home has seen a total of 21 residents test positive for the virus, as well as 18 staff members. Of those, 12 residents and 11 staff have recovered.
