By OttawaMatters Staff

The Ottawa Police Service's Internet Child Exploitation Unit is charging a 40-year-old man who is alleged to have sent explicit material online to a 14-year-old.

The investigation into this case started in August of 2020, after a tip from Peel Regional Police.

A search warrant was executed Tuesday at a residence in Orléans on digital devices belonging to a suspect.

Following the execution of that warrant, Jason Laberge, 40, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

  • Making sexual explicit material available to a child
  • Luring a child (three counts)

He is scheduled to appear at court on Wednesday.
