Police investigating hate-motivated graffiti near uOttawa campus

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating an incident of vandalism in Sandy Hill near the University of Ottawa Campus. 

According to police, hate-motivated graffiti was found in the area of King Edward Avenue and Templeton Street, sometime between 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, and 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 25. 

Police sa y the investigation is in the early stages and no other information is available at this time. 

Police tell 1310 NEWS, they take incidents like this very seriously and are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Ottawa Police Hate Crime Investigations Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5453. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.
