Catch Santa at the new Santa’s Parade of Lights in Orleans

With COVID-19 making it impossible for Orleans to roll out its annual Santa’s Parade of Lights this year in its tradition sense, it doesn’t mean there isn’t one happening.
Residents might not be able to line the streets this year, but they can still take in the marvel of Christmas lights in their neighbourhood.
Instead, this year it will be a static display with a drive thru concept.
“The spirit of Christmas is strong in our community and we hope to provide a minimalist event in an effort to raise toys and money for those less fortunate in our community,” Bob Rainboth, chairman of the Santa’s Parade of Lights, said in a statement.
The Salvation Army Toy Mountain is the recipient of what will be collected at the drive thru this year.
The drive thru is of no charge to visitors, but organizers will be collecting donations of toys or cash to fill their toy wagon.
And — yes — the big man himself, Mr. Santa Claus, will be present on his float.
An Ottawa Fire Services ladder truck will also be on-site holding up a 75’ LED Christmas tree.
There will be plenty of lights and music, Rainboth says, with a special live musical performance from Sing House Studios.
Rainboth assures that all volunteers on site will be socially distanced and masked as per provincial and municipal regulations.
