Nepean Centrepointe OPL employee tests positive for COVID-19

By Mike Vlasveld

The City of Ottawa is reporting that an Ottawa Public Library (OPL) employee working at the Nepean Centrepointe branch has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee's last day of work was April 3, and they have been self-isolating since then.

The name of the employee is not released in order to protect their privacy.

This is the second confirmed case of COVID-19 at an OPL branch since March of 2020.

The city says it is working directly with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to conduct contact tracing of individuals who have, or may have been, in close contact with this employee.

In this case OPH has advised that the key dates are the 48-hour period prior to the onset of symptoms; which are and April 2 and April 3.

OPL has conducted a deep cleaning of the areas where the person worked.
