Community organizations in Ottawa and Gatineau are getting a boost from the Ottawa Senators and the Senators Community Foundation.
The two have announced that 50/50 lottery proceeds from the final five home games of this season will be donated to the following initiatives:
- Monday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 28: Ottawa Senators vs Vancouver Canucks – Hockey is for Everyone in support of the Canadian centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity and the Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities.
- Monday, May 3: Ottawa Senators vs Winnipeg Jets – Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night in support of Support Our Troops.
- Wednesday, May 5: Ottawa Senators vs the Montreal Canadiens – Furry Fans in support of Pet Rescue Agencies in Ottawa and Gatineau.
- Wednesday, May 12: Ottawa Senators vs Toronto Maple Leafs – Fan Appreciation Night in support of youth mental health at Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
“With many families across the region struggling and relying on support agencies more than ever, we want to do what we can to help,” said Senators Community Foundation Executive Director Chris Phillips. “Initiatives like this are only possible as a result of the support we receive from our fans. We're hopeful that we can award some large jackpots to participants and create a big impact for organizations in need.”
Tickets are available now at www.5050sens.com and will be sold until 9 p.m. on the night of each game, and fans throughout Ontario are eligible to participate.
Updates on the current prize amounts, winning numbers and claimed jackpots will be posted on the Sens social media channels in addition to the team's website.
