Champlain Lookout, parkway closed until end of May for NCC construction work

By Dani-Elle Dubé

Drivers and pedestrians will have to avoid the Champlain Parkway in Luskville, Quebec until the end of May as crews work on repairing and updating the Champlain Lookout.

The Champlain Lookout and a section of the parkway will be closed to everyone between the lookout and the Étienne Brulé Lookout until May 28.

During this time, access will not be possible by road or via trails. Signage will be in place, the NCC says.

This closure is necessary to complete the Champlain Lookout rehabilitation work, including grading, landscaping, the marking and the installation of benches.

The Fortune Lake Parkway will remain open and accessible, according to the Gatineau Park Parkways schedule, with the exception of brief and temporary closures to allow for the passage of construction vehicles.
