Section of River Road in Manotick reopened after firefighters battle blaze

A section of River Road in Manotick has reopened after fire crews battled a blaze in the area.

Several 9-1-1 calls reported a fire at a house on Waterfront Court around 6:20 p.m. Thursday evening.

According to Ottawa Fire Services (OFS), crews arrived to the home off River Road, near Manotick, to find heavy black smoke and flames coming from a house.

Fire department tankers were called in to shuttle water to fight the blaze.

The fire service says there were no injuries and a fire investigator has been called in to determine the cause.

River Road was closed while crews battled the blaze, but has since reopened to traffic.
