A 41-year-old Ottawa man is facing charges after a police investigation into sexual assaults which happened between 1997 and 2001.
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit says the incidents happened at a home in east Ottawa where piano lessons were taught. The accused was not the piano instructor, but he was a resident in the home.
Police launched an investigation in February of this year when a victim came forward. She was under 14 years of age in 1997.
Danny Ching Lau, 41, of Ottawa, was charged with:
- Sexual assault
- Sexual interference with a person under 16
Lau is scheduled to appear in court, Wednesday.
