GALLERY: Inside look at 2021 CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery home

By Mike Vlasveld

The CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery is now offering an inside look at the Manotick home included in this year's grand prize.

This year's dream home is called 'the Caraway.' It features views of the Mahogany Pond, with a wrap-around porch. Inside features a 4,603 square-foot floor plan. It's considered a 'customized' bungalow with a loft space, which means two-storey ceilings and lots of natural light pouring into the main floor.

Designer Tanya Collins describes the interior as minimal and modern with an earthiness to make it cozy. She says there are hints of mid-century modern and art deco feels in the décor and there are some bold choices that are going to have people clamouring for a look.

The Minto Dream Home is not open to the public at this time, due to COVID-19. More interior photos are expected to be posted on the lottery's website. A video tour is also expected to be released this month.

CityNews Ottawa posted a gallery of photos of the exterior of the home when the lottery went live back in September.

This year's $3.1-million grand prize includes:

  • The Minto Dream Home, located at 816 Skysail Pl. in Manotick, fully furnished by La-Z-Boy.
  • $100,000
  • A 2021 LTD Hybrid Explorer 4WD from Donnelly Ford Lincoln
  • Bi-weekly house cleaning for a year from ATC Cleaning
  • $5,000 in gift cards from Farm Boy
  • Legal and moving services

The early bird deadline for the lottery is midnight on November 19. Early bird prizes include $250,000 cash and 2,600 bonus lottery tickets.

The CHEO Foundation will be running a 50-50 draw during the lottery as well. Last year's the draw reached $2.2-million.
