Single car crash results in hydro outages in Kanata area

Ottawa police are on scene of a single motor vehicle crash that happened in the city’s west end.

Officers were called to Terry Fox Drive and Kanata Avenue on Saturday morning, after a single-vehicle crash resulted in damage to hydro electric infrastructure.

Power outages are happening in the Heritage Hills area of Kanata. Several intersections along Terry Fox Drive, between Highway 417 and Richardson Side Road, are also without functioning traffic lights.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

If you do have to travel in the area, you’re asked to reduce speeds and to treat all non-functioning intersections as a four-way stop.
