Canada Post not delivering in eastern Ontario due to snow storm

By Mike Vlasveld

Residents in Ottawa and surrounding areas shouldn't expect any mail or parcels from Canada Post to show up at their doors on Monday.

Heavy snow, high winds and even a blizzard warning in Ottawa will be keeping postal employees at home.

“The safety of our employees is our number one priority,” explains Canada Post in a statement. “A red service alert means that we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out, as inclement weather and snow have made it unsafe.”

Delivery will resume once it is deemed safe to do so.

The following regions will not have deliveries from Canada Post, Monday, January 17, 2022:

  • Greater Toronto Area
  • Southern Ontario
  • Eastern Ontario
