One man killed in Highway 401 crash involving three tractor trailers in South Glengarry

One man is dead after a collision involving three tractors trailers on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Township.
According to the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the crash happened around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, in the westbound lanes of the highway, near Lancaster, east of Cornwall.
Police say it was a chain effect; a westbound transport collided with a second tractor trailer, which then struck a third transport.
A 25-year-old man who was driving the first tractor trailer was pronounced dead at scene, while the other two drivers were uninjured.
Names are being withheld pending notification of family.
The westbound lanes of Highway 401 remain closed between County Road 2 (Exit 814) and Summerstown Road as police continue to investigate the crash.
Detours are in place.
