Carleton University, uOttawa announce return to in-person learning

Students and staff at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa will soon be able to return to campus.
Both institutions have announced that students and faculty can prepare for a return to campus in the coming weeks, barring any changes to the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In-person learning is set to resume at the uOttawa on Monday, January 31.
“It is essential that students be able to resume their normal activities, for their well-being and personal growth, including a return to classrooms and campus buildings,” said uOttawa President and Vice-Chancellor Jacques Frémont in a statement. “It is also important that University staff once again be able to work together, right on campus. Our research mission must be pursued with renewed vigour.”
In accordance with public health authorities’ guidelines, the University of Ottawa announced that a return to campus will begin on January 31, with in-person and bimodal classes being offered as planned for in the 2022 Winter term. Here is our update: https://t.co/OCwrtRk5PL

Carleton University will return to in-person activities and courses on Monday, February 7.
“I am grateful that our in-person activities for winter 2022 were carefully established with the health and safety of our community as our primary concern,” said Carleton University President and Vice-Chancellor Benoit-Antoine Bacon in a statement. “Especially given that we have maintained physical distancing in all classrooms in designing the winter 2022 schedule, we are confident that these activities can be delivered safely in the present context.”

Both schools moved to remote leaning following the holiday break due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, fuelled by the Omicron variant of concern.
