Pedestrian killed in train collision in Barrhaven

A pedestrian was killed in a collision involving a train in Barrhaven on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a collision occurred on Jockvale Road. Officers were called to the scene around 1:05 p.m. 

Paramedics confirmed the person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Ottawa police say Jockvale Road remained closed between Weybridge Drive and Tartan Drive more than one hour after the incident. 

Commuters were asked to avoid the area

Officers remain on location.
