Police charge man for inciting hate

The Ottawa Police Service arrested and charged a 34-year-old man from Montreal with an incident that took place on March 12 on Wellington Street in Ottawa.

At approximately 5:20pm, a man was seen waving a known racist hateful flag, making heinous gestures, and shouting hateful slurs. 

No one was injured in this incident.

Amine Batbouti was arrested and charged with inciting hatred in a public place. 

He is to appear in court at a later date.
