Great Glebe Garage Sale announces return in May for first in-person event in two years
Another fan-favourite event that was once claimed by the grips of COVID-19 has made the announcement that it is officially coming back.
The Great Glebe Garage Sale will be heading back to the Glebe streets in its first in-person event in two years, the Glebe BIA announced on Friday, April 22.
This year, the neighbourhood-wide garage sale will take place on Saturday, May 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. — rain or shine.

“Glebeites and bargain hunters alike will have the chance to peruse two-years’ worth of built-up knick-knacks and forgotten treasures,” The Glebe BIA wrote in its announcement.
The Glebe is bordered by Bronson Avenue, the Queensway and the Rideau Canal.
Shoppers are encouraged to take public transit to the area on the day as parking will be limited and some streets closed due to large crowds.
Residents of the Glebe don’t need to sign up or obtain permission to take part in selling goods, the BIA says, unless food is being sold.
Since its inception, the Glebe Community Association has encouraged participants to voluntarily donate a portion of their proceeds to the Ottawa Food Bank.

As a charitable organization, the food bank will issue tax receipts for donations.
