OPP officers charge Ottawa resident after seizing $500K worth of drugs

An Ottawa resident is facing numerous charges after the conclusion of a drug trafficking investigation. 

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) began an investigation last month after receiving information regarding drug trafficking activity in the Ottawa area.

On July 22, 2022, the OPP OCEB executed three search warrants at locations in Ottawa. Police seized significant quantities of controlled substances, including more than 12 kilograms of suspected cocaine, over 540 tablets of suspected MDMA, over 5,000 tablets of suspected oxycodone, nearly 650 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, more than 1,000 suspected methamphetamine tablets, 4,000 grams of a suspected cutting agent, ammunition, a cocaine press and American currency.

The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $500,000.

As a result, Jason Dizzell, 30, has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of controlled substance schedule I (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking 
• Two counts of possession of controlled substance schedule I (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of controlled substance schedule I (crystal methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of controlled substance schedule I (oxycodone) for the purpose of trafficking 
• Possession of controlled substance III (MDMA) for the purpose of trafficking 
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 

The accused was held in custody upon arrest and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on July 25, 2022.
