Ottawa’s first solar-powered splash pad a success: Coun. Tierney

Ottawa's first-ever solar powered splash pad, in the city's east end, has been deemed a success.

The splash pad, located in Cyrville Park, is the first solar-powered splash in the city.

After it's launch on Friday, July 22, Beacon Hill-Cyrville Coun. Tim Tierney took to Twitter and said the turnout was high, especially given the summer-like temperatures.

“What an awesome turnout we had today for the ceremonial opening of the new Cyrville Park splash pad,” Coun. Tierney tweeted. “What was once one little water spout, is now a cool new pirate themed solar-powered splash pad!”
