Massage therapist, re-arrested, faces 3 counts of sexual assault

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid three additional counts of sexual assault against a 53-year-old Ottawa man.
According to the press release, the investigation started July 11, after someone came forward to report a sexual assault in April. The victim told police that the incident took place at a business in Beckwith Township.
Officers said through the investigation they arrested Jeremy Finn, of Stittsville, who they noted was “re-arrested” and charged with three “additional” counts of sexual assault.
He was released from custody and is expected to appear before a court at a later date.
The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, released a statement in July on the case, confirming Finn was charged.
In a statement to CityNews the college said it is aware the accused is facing additional charges.
“He remains under investigation by the College and is not authorized to practice Massage Therapy in Ontario. CMTO takes allegations of this nature with the utmost seriousness and urges anyone with relevant information or concerns about this individual to contact the College immediately,” Sam Harris, interim director, policy & communications with the college, said.
The college’s website also shows that Finn was previously disciplined in January 2023 following “findings of professional misconduct.” His massage licence was revoked for six months and he was fined by the college $3,475.
The findings detail “long-standing boundary violations” and an “inappropriate relationship” with a client.
“You engaged in behaviour that violated the physical integrity of your client. You exploited your position of trust towards your client while they were in a vulnerable state,” it details.
It also notes that in December 2021 he was “required to complete education/remediation” after a committee raised a report/complaint on him.
