Carleton University renames athletic stadium

By CityNews Ottawa

The Carleton University athletic stadium that's home to the Ravens football, soccer and rugby teams will be going by a new name.

On August 3, the university announced that its athletic stadium and field bordering Bronson Avenue will be renamed TAAG Park after a multi-year naming rights deal was struck with the Ottawa firm.

According to a Carleton press release, The Andrew Abraham Group (TAAG) is a full-service accounting firm that offers a range of services including a multi-family office group.

“TAAG is committed to the growth and prosperity of Ottawa businesses through its core values of integrity, hard work, innovation and service,” the memo states.

“This is a positive partnership—one that capitalizes on Carleton’s visibility in the community and provides an important investment in the success of Carleton University athletics,” said Jennifer Brenning, associate vice-president of recreation and athletics. “TAAG’s support will help us ensure stability for our varsity programs and a great experience for all of our student-athletes, fans and alumni.”

Andrew Abraham, TAAG chief executive officer (CEO) said they are extremely proud to partner with Carleton University in supporting sports and recreation in Ottawa and to be part of bringing many memorable life experiences to the Carleton campus and community at large.

The football home opener will mark the first game of the season at TAAG Park when the Ravens host McMaster on Saturday, August 27.
