The Ottawa Public Library (OPH) will be increasing its hours after Thanksgiving.
Starting October 11, all urban and suburban branches will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allowing for more morning availability. This will also allow the return of some programs such as 'Babytime' and 'Storytime'.
This is in addition to OPH resuming Sunday service at 10 branches after Labour day, and setting newly expanded full-day hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additional hours are also being introduced at some rural branches. Both Osgoode and Vernon branches are expanding their evening hours on Tuesday, as another step towards resuming regular, pre-pandemic hours of operation.
A long-awaited return of the local branch service in Metcalfe Village will be coming to an end as well. The new branch will be located in the Town Hall on Victoria Street, and is set to open October 13.
Full hours can be seen on OPL's website.
