Get your flu shot ASAP: local pharmacist
A local pharmacist is predicting a bad flu season, and is urging Ottawa residents to roll up their sleeves and get their flu shots as soon as possible.
Shohdy Gana told The Sam Laprade Show on Nov. 1 that COVID-19 measures over the last few years have meant less exposure to the flu virus, and he stresses the importance of getting a flu shot early.
Free flu shots are now available for anyone in Ontario aged six months and older.

“If you had the COVID shot, it won't protect you from the flu and vice versa,” he said. “When you get the flu shot, you are not only protecting yourself, you are protecting your loved ones and you are protecting vulnerable people in the community. It's a social responsibility. It's the best tool to protect yourself from the flu.”
Ottawa Public Health and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark County District Health Unit are not offering flu clinics to the general public this year.
