By Alex Black

The operator of a large snow plow was rescued by Ottawa firefighters after a single-vehicle crash in the southeast end.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to the 4000 block of Boundary Road, near Highway 417, around 8 p.m on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

A snow plow had rolled over into the ditch, trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters used a ladder and cut out the windshield of the snow plow to access the driver who was safely extricated at 8:37 p.m.

The driver was then taken into the care of the Ottawa Paramedic Service.
