City lifts winter parking ban

The City of Ottawa has lifted a winter parking ban that was implemented between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26. 

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement late last week and a snowfall warning for Ottawa earlier this week. 

The warnings were also lifted earlier today.

The cleanup from City of Ottawa snow removal crews is underway as Ottawa has received nearly 30 centimetres of snow since the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 25. 

While schools were open, school buses were cancelled for:

OC Transpo warned of  service delays due to the weather, while the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to more than 120 collisions on highways across eastern Ontario. The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) reported 11 collisions during the commute this morning. 

A number of flights were delayed or cancelled at the Ottawa International Airport because of the weather.
