A popular global Japanese retailer is coming to Ottawa this June.
Uniqlo Canada will open its first store at the CF Rideau Centre which will span over 15,000 square feet offering the brand's iconic LifeWear products for men, women, and children, such as Ultra-Light Down and AIRism.
Since opening its first store in Hiroshima in 1984, Uniqlo has expanded exponentially. The brand now has more than 2,300 stores worldwide including 16 stores in Canada and online.
The LifeWear brand is also initiating a five-year expansion strategy with a goal to open 20 new stores a year to reach 200 in North America by 2027.
This also comes as the Rideau Centre is dealing with the departure of Nordstorm Inc.
The Seattle-based company announced in March, that it's closing all of its Canadian stores and cutting 2,500 jobs as it winds down operations across the country.
