Ottawa fire knocks down brush fire in Vars
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) quickly contained a brush fire in Vars Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the large fire around 3:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of McVagh Road.
According to OFS, the one acre blaze was moving north towards Highway 417, but was brought under control by about 4 p.m.

A reminder that a burn ban remains in effect for the entire city of Ottawa.
