Procession to escort fallen OPP Sergeant Eric Mueller on Saturday

A procession will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, to honour the life of Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Eric Mueller, who tragically passed away as a result of injuries sustained in an incident on May 11, 2023, in Bourget, east of Ottawa.
The procession will depart from the Ottawa Hospital – General Campus at 3:45 p.m. and will travel along Highway 417 eastbound to Highway 174, which transitions to Highway 17, to Rockland, arriving at 4:30 p.m.
First responders and members of the public are invited to join the procession to show their respects. The public is advised to gather at one of the many overpasses along the highway or along the shoulder of the bi-directional portion of Highway 17. However, stopping on the multi-lane portion of the highways to exit their vehicle is strictly prohibited, as it poses a serious safety concern.
A police funeral will also be held at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata on Thursday, May 18, 2023, to honour the life of Sergeant Mueller.
A book of condolences for Mueller will be available to sign this weekend at the Bourget Community Centre and the city hall in Rockland, the seat of the local municipality.
