Two men facing drug and weapons charges after raid in Smiths Falls

Two men from Smiths Falls are facing a handful of charges each after a drug raid netted a large amount of illicit drugs.

Members of the OPP’s Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) executed a search warrant at a home on Pearl Street in Smith Falls on Tuesday, June 20.

Officers seized a large quantity of suspected cocaine, Dilaudid (opioid) pills and other illicit drugs, along with over $5,000 in Canadian currency, a taser and ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, Christian Clement, 35, and Nathan Wired, 37, face the following charges:

  • Careless storage of ammunition
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule III Substance

 

Both accused are due in court in Perth on August 14.
