Firefighters responded to an incident in Ottawa’s east end on Labour Day Monday where a driver drove a vehicle three quarters of the way through a motel.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said it received a call just after 8:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4 about a vehicle that was roughly 3/4 of the way through the Concorde Motel, which is located on Montreal Road.
On X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, OFS said “initial reports were that someone may have been trapped underneath the vehicle.”
“Firefighters arrived three minutes after receiving the call and confirmed there was no one trapped under or in the vehicle,” added the OFS post on X.
The debris was cleared and the vehicle was removed from the building, OFS said, while the structural integrity of the structure was not compromised in the incident.
