Firefighters respond to fire at townhouse on King George Street

Ottawa firefighters battled an early morning blaze at townhouse in the Overbrook area on Thursday, Sept. 14.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said crews responded to a fire at an attached townhome in the 400 block of King George Street just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to an OFS release, one occupant safely exited and another person jumped from a second floor window, and was later treated by paramedics.

Firefighters found a dog named Girley inside a second floor bedroom during their search for other people, and brought Girley outside who was later reunited with its owner.

The fire was declared under control at 6:45 a.m.
