It wasn’t the result the Ottawa 67’s were looking for in front of their hometown crowd at TD Place Arena
The Barber Poles kicked off the 2023-2024 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season with a disappointing 5-2 loss to the Peterborough Petes, the same team who knocked off the 67’s in last season’s postseason.

Despite losing some key players over the course of the offseason, the 67’s have 17 players returning from last year’s squad.
Newly appointed captain Luca Pinelli and Chris Barlas scored for the 67’s, who finished last season as the OHL’s best team.
It was the 100th career point of the captain’s OHL careeer.

Collin MacKenzie faced 34 shots in goal for Ottawa.
The 67’s look to right the ship when they host the Sudbury Wolves on Oct. 7 at The Arena at TD Place.
