Power restored at Ottawa Hospital’s General Campus after fire, ‘Code Orange’ remains
Ottawa Fire Services says a transformer fire broke out at the General Hospital just before 4 p.m. Friday prompting a ‘Code Orange’.
“The fire was declared under control at 17:26 (Friday)”, said Ottawa fire on X. No injuries related to the fire were reported.
Shortly after 11:15 a.m. Saturday, the Ottawa Hospital said “normal power has been restored to the General Campus”.

Around 100 patients had been relocated. As the hospital’s emergency room is impacted, the hospital still asks that people visit other emergency rooms in the city at the time of writing.
“We want to thank everyone for their patience while we managed this situation. Staff are working hard to restore normal operations at the General Campus, but this may take some time” the Ottawa Hospital said on X.
